Missing Mabel

Just finished reading my first book by Nancy Mehl, Missing Mabel.

I enjoyed it. Light, quick Christian reading. A little mystery, a little romance, some humor. Can't ask for much more.

This is a story about a hair dresser who works with funeral homes to make the loved ones look the best they can before the viewing. She accidently gets involved in a mystery while fixing Mabel's hair and the book concludes with her solving the mystery.

Great job. Looking forward to her next one.

A Time to Love - Barbara Cameron

I have to say I was a tad disappointed in this book. For me it could of ended at about the 200 page mark, I didn't see much use of the last 80 pages. As in many Amish books there near the end an accident occurs but it was unnecessary. I didn't see how it added to the story at all - the couple was already happy and didn't need brought back together through this accident.

Shared Blessings

Because I did not like Shared Hope I planned on not liking Shared Blessings. Thank goodness I gave it a shot before just deciding I didn't like it.

I enjoyed Shared Bessings. Like Shared Hope it starts with a title, a bible very and then it talks about what you can do to overcome this or work through it.

Exampe:
title: Belonging to God
Verse: Isaiah 55:1
Starts with: Have you ever wandered away from God? It then goes on to tell you how you can change that.

I am not sure if these books are meant for difference seasons of life but this one I enjoyed and would recommend to others. I felt connected to this book.

Shared Hope

I wanted to like this book more than I did.

This book is a bunch of mini devotionals for lack of a better word.

Each section starts with a title: Divine Appointments, a bible verse John 21:16 and then how they go together. For some maybe these mini devotions will touch you were you are at but for me they just fell short.
